BIOGRAFIA:

Alessandro studied at the Drama program, Art and Music Studies (DAMS) of the University of Bologna, the first Italian course entirely dedicated to visual arts and performance. In Bologna, he directed his first short film Dog from Hell, produced by Universal Studios and broadcast nationwide. In 2004, he moved to Dublin, where he managed an Apple Training Center, while teaching film editing at other institutions, such as the NYC's Tisch School of the Arts. He also co-founded the production company Cacti Films, as creative director. It was during this period that Alexander developed a relationship with documentary cinema. In 2008, he directed Children of Manila and The Cemetery People, both short documentaries describing the difficulties of life on the streets, and how education is helpful. Both films have won numerous awards and have been presented at various events around the world. Since 2011 he lives in Mexico City, where he works as a director and editor. He has spent the last four years traveling in the United States to shoot. My Tourette's, his first feature documentary.
