BIOGRAFIA:

Koen de Sutter is a Flemish actor and director. After quickly establishing himself as an actor with plays like Hendrik V by Shakespeare and Thuis by Claus, he went on to play many more roles for various theatre companies, under which Martens, about the life of ex-prime minister Wilfried Martens, Tartuffe (NTG, 2011), Faust, ofte krakeling beneden de louteringberg (Theater Zuidpool, 2012), Montaigne (Saskia Liénard, 2016), Risjaar Drei (Olympique Dramatique, 2012) and Othello (Théâtre de Liège, 2018). His directorial debut was with the piece Onder het melkwoud by Dylan Thomas. He directed a number of plays for Theater Zuidpool (amongst which Anna Blume hat eine Vogel by Kurt Schwitters and De invreter by Jeroen Olyslaegers) and served as their artistic director from 2001 to 2006. He also collaborated with Ensemble Leporello, Theater Antigone, Het Gevolg, NTGent and Theaterproductiehuis Zeelandia-Zeeland. In 2007 he directed De Dikke van Dale and in 2009 he made a location theatre project for the same festival together with actor Jan Decleir: Onder het melkwoud. For KVS he collaborated with writer Tom Lanoye for the play Who’s Afraid, which received glowing reviews and will play again in December 2021.
